Exeter Festival Chorus cleans up in the Devon Performing Arts Festival 5 March 2005
On 5 March the choir entered five classes, winning all with honours. Adjudicator Beryl Foster was full of praise for the choir: "A superb performance all round... A lovely arrangement (referring to Peter Nickol's Joy in the morning - Peter being a bass in EFC)" (Carol Class - 92 marks); "A beautiful atmosphere, impressive singing" (Ladies Choirs - 90 marks); Parts evenly balanced and the tuning always accurate - last few chords especially!" (Mixed Voice Choir, music for worship - 91 marks); "Another impressive performance..." (Choral Societies - 90 marks); "A suitably beery atmosphere... The unison singing was exemplary and the part singing evenly balanced... A lovely ending to the choral section of the festival. Thank you!" (Men's Choirs - 91 marks).
